A Memorable Experience at the 30th Kolkata International Film Festival

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and the Forum for Film Studies and Allied Arts for inviting me as a delegate to the 30th Kolkata International Film Festival. It is an honour to be part of such a prestigious event that celebrates the art of cinema and fosters cultural exchange. I deeply appreciate this recognition and look forward to carrying the inspiration of this enriching experience.

During the festival, I had the privilege of watching The Room Next Door directed by Pedro Almodóvar at Globe Cinema—an unforgettable cinematic journey.

One of the highlights was meeting Pablo César, the acclaimed Argentine director known for Pensando en él, based on the relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and Victoria Ocampo. Being flanked by him was truly an unforgettable experience. The event was further graced by Gautam Ghosh, a celebrated Indian filmmaker; the Ambassador and Consul General of Argentina; and Eleonora Wexler, the talented actress who portrayed Victoria Ocampo in the film. I captured special moments from the day, and to my delight, Pablo César graciously signed a photograph for me—a treasured memory indeed.

Adding to this memorable journey, I was also accompanied by the esteemed Italian filmmaker Alessandra Stefani, known for her remarkable film Mycelia. I truly admired her work, which beautifully explores themes of the environment, nature, and the fascinating world of mushrooms. Engaging with her was both inspiring and enlightening.

A truly unforgettable day at the 30th Kolkata International Film Festival, filled with cinema, culture, and meaningful encounters.
