Sayan Roy from Kolkata

Hello, my name is Sayan Roy. I live in Kolkata, India. I am from a very middle class family. I work in the private sector. Philatelic collection is one of my hobbies. I started my collection hobby with coins and banknotes at the age of fifteen. Then I started to collect philatelic items.  I believe that before collecting anything, we need to have strong knowledge of that subject or we should strengthen ourselves on that subject while collecting, otherwise we have to face a lot of difficulties later. You can say I had to prepare myself in that way or still do. Collection is not possible without proper study. I was very lucky to have a mentor or teacher. He helped me to steer this matter in the right direction. The subjects of my philatelic collection are - "Bangla and Bengali", "Satyajit Ray", "Lata Mangeshkar", "Rabindranath Tagore", "Sheikh Mujibur Rahman", "Elephants" etc.

In the coming days I would like to increase my collection and if I get a chance I would like to present the collection to people so that these great people, Bengali art culture, specialties, products, historical architecture are not lost in time.
